Hi Kacee, I am sorry to hear you went through what I did (the similarities are remarkabale) but so glad to hear you’ve had the surgery and are recovering. Wishing you the best! I am sure you will be back to your active lifestyle soon. Susan

I came across your story and I felt like I was reading my own. 1st born girl, large baby but grew to a healthy, active woman. Living in Montana with my husband and children, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, yoga, pilates….and so much more. One day I had a herniated disc and sciatica, and then when it healed there was still pain in my hip and glutes and by the end of the year, I couldn’t walk, without assistance. For a year, no one could figure out my pain. Not the Dr, the Chiropractor or the PT. I was finally sent to a specialist and an xray confirmed her diagnosis of hip dysplasia with end stage osteoarthritis. I never knew. I honestly thought she had the wrong patient scans. I am 4 weeks post-op and your story is such an encouragement. I hope to get back to my active lifestyle and do all the things I love, with my family.

I go in in 6 weeks. Trying to Prehab as they call it. I’ve been teaching group fitness at Golds gym for 19 years now. I’m 53 and have had bone on bone in my left hip for about a year now. Only hurts when I walk, but I’m tired of limping everywhere. It’s kind of embarrassing, am I right? My biggest fear is the surgery itself, then blood clots and infection, then not being truly healed and going through this all for not. But your words, your story, gives me great hope and comfort (along with fellow posters on here) that I’m not alone in all of those feelings. I’ll continue to teach cycling for now and hope I can get back to it post rehab. Thanks again and love that your travel so much. It’s such a blessing, isn’t it?

I’m A Musician and avid mountain biker I knew i needed it and have had to go thru alot in preparation (such as having to have all my teeth extracted. So implants are after the hip in 3 months or so. another story for another time 😛 ) I am 59 and surprisingly could still ride as it low impact but getting off the bike I fell….. and that was it, I knew I had to do this. I am well educated on what to expect but hearing stories from those who have been there is GOLD for me so thank you!! Left a link to my music on you tube recorded in my recording studio
