Hi Lynette, What an exciting trip you have planned! I can see the packing challenge with your many destinations. I would definitely check with your safari operator regarding the large rolling duffle. It may be too big for some of the planes. Are you talking about combined luggage for the two of you? I would tend towards three smaller soft-sided bags — they may be easier to fit in the planes than a big bag. Mine didn’t have wheels but I did see some people’s had wheels in my safari, so I think they are used to some bags having wheels. That should be fine. Have an incredible trip! Susan

A wealth of information. We are heading to the Seychelles (fly fishign) in late February then to the Kruger National Park (along w/ some adjacent spots) early March, then on to Paris mid to late March. Packing is very complex and don’t want to look like {“…..”) I’m sure you know what I mean. If we need to take a large rolling duffle and a carry 35L backpack, do you feel our small planes or on site crew will find this unacceptable? If so we could repack quickly in between flights in Johannesburg and then would need to leave a bag or two in a secure airport location. Just wondering your thoughts. Of course you are not held to them in any way.

You likely won’t need a warm coat in February, true. It can be quote chilly first thing in the morning when you head out on a drive, so I suggest taking a light sweater along with your rain coat. Have a marvelous trip!

SO helpful and logical. We are heading out to Windhoek,Namibia, Botswana, Chobe, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Zimbabwe and Kruger for a total of 19 days. The packing list in particular is a great guide. This is our second trip.
Hope to do Kenya next year. Africa gets easier the second time around. Heading out late September
